Week 2. Case Study. Temperament or character.

I can see a large relation between my writing process and the mood I'm in. My writing also tells you a lot about me just in the way I word things or phrase certain things. Normally if I'm not in a good mood my writing skills and process are thrown off. I'm not worried about planning things out, just more focused on getting done and going to smoke a cigarette. As longs as I stay in a pretty decent mood I'm able to wright, plan, draft, the whole works without stressing out or making it more complicated then it needs to be. If someone was to read my journal page by page, they would be able to pin point the type of mood I was in just by the way I literally write the words down. Also in journals your feelings play a big roll in what you write, because that's were you go to get out all our problems on paper so it seems like its not as big of a problem. Some people say that I talk a certain way and I've even had people say that I write the way that I talk. I've heard that from teachers to other classmates to even my boyfriend has said it. Personally I think know matter who you are your temperament and your character is going to play a part in your writing process. It will either make you a better writer or you will allow your mood to get in the way of your writing abilities.

  1. Excellent reflection here, Ashley. I think what you're describing is your writing voice.

We'll work on harnessing those good moods and making them work for you this semester!
